Leicester Underwater Exploration Club

Training available at LUEC

The club runs a number of Ocean Diver and BSAC Snorkel Diver courses throughout the year for trainees that have no previous diving or snorkelling experience.

Also qualified divers who want to further their current qualification are welcome to join our club.

Try-dives :

For anyone interested in finding out what it is like to use a Scuba equipment the club runs Try-dives on a Thursday night during the practical sessions.

To book a Try-dive see the contact page.

Try-Dives can be arranged for individuals or groups at £10 per try-dive.

BSAC snorkel diver:

Snorkellers under instruction

Cost of first year's membership for the BSAC Snorkel Diver course is £50.00.

The course instruction lasts about 6 weeks and is ideal for people of all ages wanting to learn to snorkel before going on their holiday or waiting until they are old enough to go onto full diving.

Once qualified, you can then come down on a Thursday and practice using your equipment on your own for the rest of your years membership.

Instruction given will lead to BSAC Snokel Diver qualification which teaches you how to snorkel safely in sheltered open water conditions.

If required trainees can go on to further qualifications which require doing some snorkelling in open water conditions in this country.

If you are interested in joining any of the courses above or would like further information then please contact John Richardson on the contact page.

Ocean Diver :

Divers under instruction

Cost of first year's membership, including the Ocean Diver, course is £250.00. Included within the fees is the Student Work Book, Qualification Log Book, 'The Diving Manual', monthly Dive magazine, 3rd party insurance and pool fees.

Cost of the above course for a Junior / Student membership is £220.50 Note that this does not include the Dive magazine.

Trainees need to be 14 years and over and are required to sign a BSAC Medical (see the Documents page to download a copy) form.

The club has a number of Scuba sets that can be loaned for those that require it during the practical sessions in the pool
