The Kernow Dive Fest is an annual dive and fundraising weekend organised by a group of associated BSAC dive clubs in Cornwall and Devon. Last year over 200 divers and 15 clubs (including LUEC) participated in the event, which has raised a phenomenal £69,760 for the DDRC Healthcare in Plymouth to date.
Subject to approval from the DiveFest team, we’re hoping to once again take Vixen down to Cornwall again to join in the diving and merriment along the Cornish peninsula. Suitable for qualified Ocean Divers and above, the diving includes a mix of reef and wrecks (up to a maximum depth of 40m). Non-divers are also welcome to attend. Accommodation is at a local campsite.
The high-level plan for the weekend is as follows, but please speak to Sarah for more information, and use the Club’s Spond App to express your interest in attending).
Friday - arrive at campsite, meals arranged locally, safety briefing for all diver coxswains and DOs.
Saturday - early launch of all boats, diving all day with groups and coxswains switching boats according to the plan, BBQ, party and raffle, followed by Auction
Sunday - diving is organised on an ad-hoc basis depending on who is fit to dive.
